Terri Belk was not so sure about letting me photograph her without makeup. I am usually not so sure about photographing any girl WITH makeup. My favorite flavor of beauty is natural. Terri has a lot of that, mixed with a personality that is difficult to predict. Terri can at times be the most confident and upbeat person you will ever meet. And at other times, she appears to be the most vulnerable and in need of reassurance. It is as if Terri belongs to some emotionally complex race of beings called Human. Poor girl.
