Maria Aravani might look like a sweet innocent girl, she might even be one, but she's not going to show you her true colors easily. You have to earn it. She holds on to traditional values that tell her not to wear her emotions on her sleeves. While I was taking these, I managed to back into a stand that was holding several bottles of alcohol. There was one casualty that day, an unopened liter of rum. Maria was kind enough to giggle at me as I tried to pick it up and hide my shame. And shortly after, while I was letting her out the door, one of my friend's cats decided to make a mad dash for freedom. Eventually all was rectified, but I will always remember how eventful this shoot went.
