Here is what I know about August Ames. She was never a diva to me even though she had every right to be. She was loyal to her agent, which is unusually rare in the adult industry. Energy, enthusiasm, and joy emanated from August every time I photographed her. She cared deeply about her family. She did things in her life that most would consider filthy, but August was brave enough not to hide them. I will always think of her as a kind-hearted person. I don't know exactly why she took her own life, but I know people can and probably should be nicer to one another. Even online.
